Boy at The River

Sometimes it really pays to wonder off.  To walk along a rushing river.  To leave the guide and the group and the talk and the questions. And to simply observe life as it is in a small boys world inside the pueblo on a summer day.

At the Barre

The grace of thought and movement combined. Soft beauty set to music.

Old Mill Ovens

Such treasures lay sleeping in a winter wood and echoes of the past are muffled by the morning fog.

Ballerina at the Barre

There are moments in every parent's life that stand out.  Moments when you pass the point of no return.  Milestones.

First smile.  First step.  First day of school.  Firsts that mark the path you walk with your child.

And then there are the more subtle occurrences.  The ones that sneak up behind you and tap you gently on the shoulder. The quiet moments of transition that serve to remind you that it is time to step off the path, and appreciate the grace and poise of the individual standing before you.

Like a ballerina warming up at the barre before a performance.  Quiet, pensive and strong.

Project 365 - Ferns

It seems unlikely.  Counterintuitive. But grow they do.  Green from rock. The ferns are unaffected by this miracle.  The trees unmoved.  I smile.

Project 365 - Curtains

Tiny fairy curtains hung
Out to dry
In the late afternoon
Light.
